What you guys think about Americans saying that Miami is the “Capital of Latin America”?

I know it’s mostly a joke, and being bothered by that is somewhat silly, but it eels in bad taste. I mean, it reminds me how they usually conflate the Latino diaspora culture in the US with some inexistent, generic, Latino American culture. It’s also in bad taste due to the problematic history the US have with Latin American countries.
Again, I know It’s silly, I even seen people jokingly saying it here, but sometimes it seems like they thinks it’s peak humor or something.
